Guidelines for an optimal webAR result

Follow

During the creation

  • Maximize the distribution of medium/high frequency graphic elements throughout the marker/image. The visual must be "rich" to optimize recognition and tracking of your Augmented Reality content.
  • Avoid placing your augmentations outside the target marker/visual to keep the user close to the marker and improve the stability of the augmentations.

  • Avoid the use of glossy markers/visuals (gold or silver varnish, selective varnish, reflective inks...) Light effects hinder the good recognition of the visual.

  • Watch out to good and bad markers

  • Avoid the use of visuals positioned on "deformable" supports (T-shirts, scarves, etc.)

  • Optimize the size of your markers / images. Avoid small images, they offer a bad recognition index. Choose medium/large markers/images to optimize detection and tracking stability during webAR rendering.

The longer side of the marker must not exceed 1000 Px

The portrait format is also recommended.

  • Pay attention to the weight of your AR scene. Optimize the weight of each of your assets to improve the speed of display and the fluidity during the scan. An ideal WebAR scene should not exceed 5 Mo (including all the assets of the scene). Foster images between 100Kb and 2Mb and make sure your PDFs do not exceed 1000Mb.

  • Avoid duplicates, each page must have a unique and specific marker:

  • Scan the entire marker/image by positioning the telephone's optics well in front of the marker.

  • Limit the number of applications opened on your phone. This will save battery power, prevent overheating and optimise the computing power of your phone

  • Limit the number of search tabs opened in your mobile browser. This will improve the speed and fluidity of WebAR interactions
